Career Options in Physical Education and Sports in India

Abstract

A career in physical education and sports is a unique occupation. It is a profession by which a student can earn a substantial amount of money and at the same time stay fit. After understanding the subject a lot of job opportunities are open up for the candidates. Physical education is an integral part of the total education process. India has a great tradition in physical education as a means of ensuring physical development, martial velour and recreational competence and the Indian system of exercises include a variety of physical activities. A person considers many things like power, money, status and self satisfaction, while choosing a carrier. Hence it becomes difficult to select a career. In order to motivate the students to choose physical education as a career one must assess himself whether he excels in that field or not. The present article provides a detailed list of various courses related to the carrier in the field of physical education and sports along with the institutions and centers available in India. The article also highlights the elements of self assessment in choosing the appropriate carrier in physical education and sports.
