Abstract

The purpose of this study aimed to identify the factors that are critical to employees’ QWL. It also aimed to show how all the factors are related to each other and how they give rise to various issues if not implemented successfully. An attempt has been made with the help of cause and loop diagram to show all the possible relationships giving rise to the issues faced by the industry. Unlike, traditional method of using reductionist approach, which involves breaking down the whole system into internally manageable pieces and then analysing each piece in isolation, Systems Approach is implicitly holistic view, treating QWL merely as a sum of the behaviour of its parts. In this study various Quality of Work Life (QWL) problems faced by the Automobile Service Industry are identified and with help of Cause Loop Diagram (CLD) it is shown that how various factors contribute or influence the arrival of these problems in the organisation. Further with the help of Cause and Loop Diagram (CLD) it is shown how these factors can be eliminated with the help of various QWL strategies.
