Abstract The objective of the paper is to review the impact of corporate governance (CG) on the firm's performance by investigating the previous research papers of post financial crisis period of 2008. To achieve the objective, this paper reviews the impact of CG by providing an outline of 88 publications focusing on firm performance (Published in top nine international journal during 2009–2016). The findings reveal that majority of the studies indicate a positive association between corporate governance practice and financial performance. Corporate governance practices have improved the financial performance of firms/corporations. This study helps academicians and scholars by contributing various sources of information like methods, findings, research gap and future areas of research, etc. Top Keywords Corporate governance, Financial performance, Positive association.
