Feminism and women empowerment: an Indian perspective

Abstract

The global society has witnessed the victimization of women at its alarming stage that has rocked the social integration of men and women and has drawn much of attention from different corners to advocate feminist movement as a step towards implementing the revolutionary concept that women are also people and to apply policy measures towards women empowerment. Many writers, social activists and reformers have widely criticised the continued oppression and inhuman treatment of women in the society. They have solicited for the alleviation of such a detestable practice once for all as far as possible for the betterment of human civilization. This paper highlights the concept of feminism and the women empowerment practice followed in India to save women from the social atrocities and crimes.
