Abstract

Studies on different Bacillus thuringiensis formulations against third instar larvae of Plutella xylostella (Linn.) were carried out to determine the LC50 value and their persistence on cabbage leaves under field conditions. The LC50 of the five formulations namely, delfin WG, dipel 8L, halt WP, biobit HPWP and biolep WP ranged between 0.0100 to 0.0173% and the differences were non-significant. All the formulations persisted on the leaves of field grown cabbage plants for at least 120 hrs with the OAR (original activity remaining) ranging from 46.4 to 53.3%. These Bt formulations thus, can provide high protection against DBM for at least five days and can be utilised as critically important component of IPM.
