Evaluation of Broflanilide 300 g/l SC against Plutella xylostella L. and Spodoptera litura Fab. on Cabbage, Brassica oleracea var. capitata L. Wale S.D.*, Mohite P.B. Abstract A field experiment was conducted to study bioefficacy of newer insecticide, Broflanilide, its effect on natural enemies and yield of cabbage, Brassica oleracea var. capitata. Insecticide treatments viz., Broflanilide 300 g/l SC @ 6.60; 12.60 and 18.60 g a.i./ha and Cypermethrin 10 EC @ 60 g a.i./ha; Fipronil 5 SC @ 40 g a.i./ha along with untreated control were assessed against Plutella xylostella and Spodoptera litura after two foliar spray applications at ten days interval in RBD with four replications. Pooled data revealed that the dose of Broflanilide 300 g/l SC @ 18.60 g a.i./ha was found most effective for the control of diamond back moth as well as tobacco leaf eating caterpillar and recorded highest yield of cabbage heads i.e. 18.92 t/ha as against 12.45 t/ha in an untreated control. This treatment was followed by Broflanilide 300 g/l SC @ 12.60 g a.i./ha and recorded 18.82 t/ha yield of cabbage heads. These treatments found promising regarding its safety to natural enemies.
