Abstract

The present investigation was carried out with seventeen guava genotypes viz. L1G6, L1G7, L2G6, L2G8, L3G8, L4G7, L4G8,L5G7, L5G8, L6G2, L6G7,L7G8, L8G6, L8G7, L8G8, Sardar and Lalit during 2016-17 to 2017-18. The morphological characters such as spreading habit, tree canopy, leaf lamina color, leaf apex, inflorescence type, shape and color of fruit, color of pulp of fruits were observed. Medium dense canopy was observed in most of the genotypes studied. Many genotypes had dark green colored leaves. Leaf apex was Acute in the genotypes L1G7, L2G6, L3G8, L4G7, L4G8, L5G8, L6G2, L6G7, L7G8,L8G7 , L8G8, whereas it was obtuse in L5G7, L8G6 and lalit. Inflorescence was cymose and solitary in almost all genotypes. The fruits were greenish yellow. Most of the genotypes had sub-globose fruits, whereas the genotypes L3G8, L4G8 had ovate and L7G8 AND L8G8 had Pyriform fruits. Out of the seventeen genotypes, creamy white pulp was observed in L5G8, L8G7 and Sardar genotypes, whereas remaining fourteen genotypes were with pink pulp.
