Bacoside-a production in embryogenic callus of Bacopa monniera (L.) pennell. Parale A.P., Sangle S. M. Rajaram College, Kolhapur, Maharashtra- 416006. India. Online published on 17 October, 2020. Abstract Bacoside-A is an active ingredient of Bacopa monniera (L.) Pennell, (Scrophulariaceae). It is well known for its potential neuroprotectivity. Due to improper harvesting, seedling death at 2-leaf stage and habitat change there is rapid depletion of B. monniera from its natural habitat, and hence the production of Bacoside-A. Hence, in-vitro techniques for the production of bacoside. Present study revealed that induction of somatic embryo is associated with enhancement of bacoside Acontent in Bacopa monniera (L.) Pennell.
