Guidelines for Authors

Manuscript Guidelines

The manuscript must be submitted in MS-Word (2003/2007) through online submission gateway available on www.indianjournals.com. Please follow the hyperlink “Article Submission” on the home page of the website and upload all of your manuscript files following the instructions given on the screen. Queries regarding submission can be sent at submission@indianjournals.com.

The authors are expected to prepare the manuscript using the following guidelines:

Format

All files should be submitted as a Word Document (Windows 2010, .Docx file), font style should be Times New Roman; font size of 12, one inch margin on all sides and double line spacing to be maintained throughout. No header should be there in the entire manuscript. Only a footer (centrally aligned) with page number should be there.

Manuscript Length Abstract

Manuscript should be between 6000-12000 words in length. Book review can be of around 1500 words. An abstract of not more than 250 words(including keywords and article classification) should be included in the title page as given below:

Title Page

A Title Page should be submitted which should include:
          Article Title
          Author Details
                    Full name of each author
                    Affiliation of each author
                    Where more than one author has contributed to the article, details of who should be contacted for correspondence
                          Brief professional biography of 40-60 words of each author.
          Acknowledgements
          Structured Abstract
                    Purpose (mandatory)
                    Design/methodology/approach (mandatory)
                    Findings (mandatory)
                    Research limitations/implications (if applicable)
                    Practical implications (if applicable)
                    Social/managerial implications (if applicable)
                    Originality/value (mandatory)
          Keywords - Please provide up to 5 keywords on the Title Page, which encapsulate the principal topics of the paper.
          Article Classification
                    Research Paper
                    Technical Paper
                    Article
                    Case Study (with teaching notes preferred)

Book Review

Main Document:

Headings

Headings must be concise, with a clear indication of the distinction between the hierarchies of headings. The preferred format is for first level headings to be presented in bold format (font size 12 only) and subsequent sub-headings to be presented in medium italics

Notes/ Endnotes

Notes or Endnotes should be used only if absolutely necessary and must be identified in the text by consecutive numbers, enclosed in square brackets and listed at the end of the article.

Figures

All Figures (charts, diagrams, line drawings, web pages/screenshots, and photographic images) should be submitted in a separate sheet. All Figures should be legible and numbered with Arabic numerals.

Tables

Tables should be typed and included in a separate file to the main body of the manuscript. The position of each table should be clearly labeled in the body text of manuscript with corresponding labels being clearly shown in the separate file.

References

References to other publications must be in Harvard style and carefully checked for completeness, accuracy and consistency.
Publications in the text should be cited as: (Surname, year) using the first named author's name or (Surname 1 and Surname 2, Year) citing names of two, or (Surname 1 et al., year), when there are three or more authors. At the end of the text a reference list in alphabetical order should be supplied:

For books

For book chapters

Surname Initials, year. ?Chapter title?, Editor?s chapters Surname, Initials, Title of Book, Publisher, Place of publication, pages.

For journals

Surname Initials, year. ?Title of article?, Journal Name, Vol. , No. , pp.

For published conference

proceedings Surname Initials, year of publication. ?Title conference of paper?, in Surname, Initials (Ed.), Title of proceedings published proceeding which may include place and date(s) held, Publisher, Place of publication, Page numbers.

For unpublished conference

proceedings Surname Initials, year. ?Title of paper?, paper unpublished presented at Name of Conference, date of conference conference, place of conference, available at: URL proceedings if freely available on the internet (accessed date).

For working

Surname Initials, year. "Title of article", working paper [number if available], Institution

papers

or organization, Place of organization, date.

For newspaper

Surname Initials, year. ?Article title?, News articles paper, date, pages. (authored)

For newspaper articles (authored)

Surname Initials, year. "Article title", Newspaper, date, pages.

For newspaper articles (nonauthored)

Newspaper, year. "Article title", date and pages.

For electronic sources

If available online, the full URL should be supplied at the end of the reference, as well as a date that the resource was accessed.
Standalone URLs, i.e. without an author or date, should be included either within parentheses within the main text, or preferably set as a note (roman numeral within square brackets within text followed by the full URL address at the end of the paper).
