Online published on 24 September, 2020. Abstract Population dynamics of mealybug Phenacoccus solenopsis Tinsley in cotton was studied at Coimbatore during 2016–2017. Maximum incidence of P. solenopsis (400.75 insects/plant) was observed during October and the least during January (100.60 insects/plant). During February and March, incidence was still lesser. There existed a positive correlation with maximum and minimum temperature, and relative humidity, and a negative correlation with rainfall, as regards incidence.
