Abstract Screening of 16 cotton genotypes against mealybug Phenacoccus solenopsis Tinsley was carried out in pot culture experiment during 2016–17 at the Insectary, Department of Agricultural Entomology, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. The experiment was laid out following CICR grade index. The results revealed that none of the genotype was completely free from infestation. Based on the resistance index and incidence, genotypes were grouped as: Resistant- Nil; Tolerant- Co 14, MCU 13, Supriya and DCH 32; Moderately resistant- TCH 1819, Suraj, Anjali, MCU 5 VT, LRA 5166, Suvin, Surabhi and Sumangala; Moderately susceptible -CCH 4474, CCH 2623, SVPR 2 and SVPR 4; and Highly susceptible- Nil.
