Abstract

Efficacy of seven insecticides viz., indoxacarb 15.8% EC @ 50 g a.i.ha−1, lufenuron 5.4% EC @ 30 g a.i.ha−1, chlorantraniliprole 18.5 SC @ 30 g a.i.ha−1, cyantraniliprole 10.26% OD @ 60 g a.i.ha−1, spinetoram 11.7% SC @ 60 g a.i.ha−1, Bacillus thuringiensis and neem were evaluated against H. armigera in chickpea during rabi 2017–18 and 2018–19 at BCKV, Mohanpur, West Bengal. Among the treatments, chlorantraniliprole (T3) was found to be superior than the rest with 87.12 to 88.14% reduction of larvae. This was followed by lufenuron (T2) with 79.20 and 61.11% reduction of larvae over control in two years, respectively. Maximum increase in yield was obtained with T3 chlorantraniliprole (81.1%) followed by T2 lufenuron (67.39%).
