Abstract

An efficient marketing system is a prime factor for raising the producer's share in the consumer's rupee and promoting the economic development of the country. The main objective of the study was to examine the price spread and marketing efficiency in the marketing of fresh potatoes in the Kurukshetra district of Haryana, India, during 2019-20. The primary data were collected for potatoes by survey method using a well-designed survey schedule. Price spread was the highest in marketing Channel-I, and the marketing efficiency was highest in marketing Channel-IV as the packaging and unloading services were provided by the supermarkets to the potato farmers. The study provided information regarding the selection of the right marketing channel for potato marketing.
