Online published on 27 November, 2019. Abstract Burn injuries and their sequel pose a public health problem. Every year, it was found that burns caused by fire were responsible for about 265, 000 deaths globally. The present study was taken up to know the pattern of deaths due to burns in married women and to analyse the probable reasons for the same and to analyse the socio etiological factors involved. 80 cases of deaths due to burns in married woman were taken up for study. Maximum number of death occurred in the age group 21–30 years. Maximum cases belong to the category of marital age more than 7 years and majority of the victims belongs to lower socio economic status. Majority of the incidence occur at home. Most of the deaths were suicidal in nature followed by accidental burns and the minimum number of cases was of homicidal burns. Presence of soot particles in airways observed in 18.75% cases and cloudy degeneration of kidney in 85% cases. Most of the victim died due to neurogenic shock.
