Abstract Background Teenagers with menstrual cycle still experience one or more symptoms of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS). High estrogen levels and imbalance of estrogen and progesterone cause PMS symptoms. Research objective Identifying the role of estrogen and progesterone hormone imbalance on PMS in female adolescent. Research method Using a non-experimental design, using a cross sectional approach with 40 samples. Conclusion The imbalance of the estrogen and progesterone hormones plays a role in the degree of premenstrual syndrome.
