Effect of Zinc Methionine on Some of the Productive Traits of Broilers

Abstract

The trial was designed to evaluate the addition of zinc methionine to the diet on some productive and carcasses performance of broiler, the study was conducted in the poultry field, Animal Production Department, Agriculture Faculty, Al-Muthanna University, from 1/4/2018 to 15/5/2018. A total of 400 broiler, one day, unsexed Ross308 strain were randomly distributed to four treatments (100 chick/treatment), each treatment included four replicates (25 chick per replicate), The chickens were reared in four-floor batteries with a measuring 2 x 1.5 meters per floor. The treatments of the experiment were as follows: First treatment (T1): a control treatment, zinc methionine was added at levels 400, 500 and 600 g per ton of feed for T2, T3 and T4 treatments respectively. The results showed that the T4 resulted in a significant improvement (p≤0.05) in body weight, body gain, feed consumption, feed conversion and mortality compare with other treatments.
