Abstract The current research aims to identify the effectiveness of an educational program in the development of mental thinking among undergraduate students in general teaching methods, to investigate the research objective, the researchers hypothesized the following zero hypothesis: There was no statistically significant difference at significance level (0.05) between the average grade of the experimental group students who study according to the educational program and the average grade of students in the control group who study according to the usual method in the scientific thinking developing test, to achieve this, the researchers chose an experimental design with partial control, the College of Basic Education at the University of Babylon was intentionally selected for the experiment, the sample consisted of 50 female and male students, 25 students in the experimental group and 25 students in the control group, the researcher taught the experimental group in the educational program and taught the control group in the usual way The results were then analyzed and showed that the students of the experimental group who studied on the basis of an educational program were superior to the control group who studied in the usual method.
