Online published on 19 August, 2019. Abstract Pregnancy is absolutely one of the most pleasurable experiences in a women's life. Pregnancy may be natural, but it does not mean that it is a problem free.4 PIH is characterized by high blood pressure and the presence of proteinurea accompanied by edema that has a harmful effect equally on both fetus and mother adversely.5 The purpose is to assess the knowledge regarding self care management and to find the association between knowledge score with selected demographic variables among the mothers with pregnancy induced hypertension. The study was conducted by using quantitative approach with non-experimental, explorative, descriptive research design. The conceptual framework was based on self care theory, developed by Dorothea Orem.18 The reliability was calculated by using Karl Pearson's formula coefficient. Total 120 samples were selected by Probability simple random sampling technique, lottery method. Data collection tool had knowledge questionnaire to assess knowledge regarding self-care management of PIH. It was found that 62.50% of mothers with PIH were having poor knowledge regarding self care management of PIH. Thus it was concluded that implementation of knowledge regarding self care management of PIH would be beneficial to mothers having PIH in many ways like it reduces the further complications.
