Online published on 13 November, 2019. Abstract Assessment in emergency departement determines the accuracy of diagnosis and administration of therapy at left heart failure patients. NEWSS is a fast scoring method in assessment. This research has purpose to analyze prognosis within 24 hours using NEWSS method with left heart failure patients. Observational analytical research method was used with a prospective cohort design. Research location at Mitra Delima Hospital, Malang. The respondents were 48 patients which selected by consecutive sampling. Data analysis used univariate tests and ROC diagnostic tests. The results shown that statistical analysis of univariate tests obtained prognosis results in 24 hours on 39 patients (81.3%) with left heart failure who did not experience cardiac arrest, and 9 patients (18%) experienced cardiac arrest. The diagnostic test shown the AuROC results were 0.967 (95% CI 91.2%-100%), sensitivity of 0.889 and specificity of 0.872. In conclusion, sensitivity value of NEWSS was 0.889, which means clinically, the ability to produce positive cardiac arrest rate was 88.9%. Clinical specificity value was 0.872 to produce a negative value of no cardiac arrest by 87% and AuROC value of 0.967 which included into category of very good in predicting prognosis within 24 hours on left heart failure patients.
