Abstract The current study aims to identify (The Effect of Teaching General Methods of Teaching on the Dimensions of Structural Theory in the Total Thinking of College Students). To achieve the aim of the present study, the following null hypothesis has been formulated: (there is no statistically signifcant difference between the students ’mean scores of performance of the experimental group which is taught methods of General teaching within the dimensions of the constructivism and that of the control group which is taught which is taught holistic thinking according to traditional method of teaching). The experiment was conducted in Iraq-Babylon province. The researcher follows the experimental approach as the appropriate one to such research. The population of the research was the third grade in the departments of the college of basic education, University of Babylon. The sample is selected randomly, it involves 92 third stage students from department of geography. Both groups are equalized in some variables such as age and level of parents education. The researcher uses the T-test for two independent variables, Chi-square and the Pearson correlation coeffcient. The results show that the experimental group is higher than that of the control group.
