Abstract Current study intended to probe into the associationamongst the perceived stress and adjustment, and also the main and buffering effect of support from other and support from friend, in a sample of 325 JNV migrants (196 = male and 129 = female) migrant students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. Bivariate analyses revealed strong correlation of perceived stress with educational, emotional and social adjustment. Test of interaction effects indicated that support from signifcant others and friend buffered the infuence of higher level of perceived stress on educational, social and emotional adjustment. Outcomes of the present research supports moderating part ofperceived social support in relation to perceived stress and proposes the requirement forenablingthe intact support system for migrants.
