Abstract Objective To find out the Prevalence of flat feet in 11 to 16 years old school children in Karachi population. Methodology A cross-sectional study was conducted with a sample of 116 children of age 11–16 years old students of school located in Karachi by convenient sampling technique. Diagnosis of flat feet was made by obtaining ink foot print in standing posture and by calculating Plantar Arch Index (PI). Results A total of 116 students were evaluated out of which 74(63.8%) were male and 42(36.2%) were female. Prevalence of flat feet in the population of 11–16 years old school children was 42.24%, among which 23.3% were having bilateral flat feet and 19% were having unilateral flat feet. Conclusion The plantar arch index (PI) is much easier to obtain from footprints and there is no significant difference in relation to gender or age. According to the PI analysis, no significant difference was seen between sides with mean plantar indexes are 0.77 for right side and 0.72 for left Side.
