Online Published on 27 September, 2024. Abstract Fowl cholera (FC) is caused by serogroup A (A:1, A:3, A:4) serotypes of Pasteurella multocida (P. multocida). The killed whole cell preparations of accepted strains are not known to induce an across serotype response and live vaccines are not safe. Thus, an antigenic preparation that can induce a cross protective response is desired. The trials of P. multocida A:1 phage lysate in mice have shown homologous and heterologous response against stringent virulent challenge with P. multocida A:1, A:3, A:4 giving completes across serotype protection.
