Abstract

Field studies were conducted to screen a part of the sorghum germplasm to propaz ine tolerance. Out of the total 528 lines tested 43 were found tolerant, to preemergence application of the herbicide thus indicating that varietal and genotypical differences to propazine tolerance do exist in sorghum. Caffrorum-Birdproof and Caffrorum/Feterita groups contributed 12 of these tolerant lines out of 13 tested. The practical significance of these results is discussed.
