Surgical Management of Thoracic Choke in a Cow

Abstract

A crossbred cow was presented with history of swallowed mango. It was diagnosed as obstruction of oesophagus at thoracic part based on clinical symptoms and by passing a probang. Laparorumenotomy was performed and obstruction lodged anterior to the cardia was removed manually. Post-operatively, animal was treated with antibiotic and anti-inflammatory and recovered without any complications.
