Abstract

Twelve (12) babesia positive goats and six apparently healthy goats were evaluated for comparative hemato-biochemical study. Anorexia, suspended rumination, pale mucous membrane, pyrexia, bilateral nasal discharge, tachycardia, tachypnoea and hemoglobinuria were observed in babesiosis affected animals. Hemato-biochemical examination revealed anaemia. Peripheral blood smears examination revealed Babesia motasi in nine goats and Babesia ovis in three goats. The affected animals were treated with Diminazene diaceturate, Ivermectin and hematinics. All animals showed clinical recovery.
