Abstract

Mycoplasma pneumonia occurence was diagnosed in a flock of 390 caprines. The predominant clinical signs included bilateral nasal discharge, pyrexia, coughing, respiratory distress, ocular opacity and depression. Post mortem examination revealed reddening, consolidation, localized lung necrosis, presence of fibrinopurulent membrane on pleural surface and serofibrinous fluid in thoracic cavity. Based on history, clinical observations, necropsy findings and PCR it was confirmed as pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma. Ailing goats were segregated and successfully treated with Tylosin and Enrofloxacin.
