Online published on 4 May, 2019. Abstract A total of 330 samples were screened for cytological identification of tumors. Out of 330 samples, 106 (32.12%) samples were positive for tumors. Among 106 tumors, 23 (21.71%) were of epithelial origin, 17 (16.03%) were mesenchymal origin and 66 (62.26%) were round cell origin. Cytologically, epithelial tumors showed round to polyhedral cells in squamous cell carcinoma, cluster of cylindrical cells in basal cell carcinoma, hepatoid cell clusters in perianal tumors and anisocytosis, Anisokaryosis with occasional vacuolations of cytoplasm in sebaceous gland adenocarcinoma. Mesenchymal tumors showed spindle cells with oval nuclei in fibroma and fibrosarcoma, variable sized lipocytes clusters with vacuolated cytoplasm in lipoma, anisocytosis with discrete vacuoles in cytoplasm in liposarcomas. Round cell tumors showed cytoplasmic granules in mast cell tumors, cytoplasmic vacuolations in TVT and discrete cells with basophilic cytoplasm in lymphoma and pigmented cells in malignant melanoma.
