Anal Sacculectomy for Management of Chronic Anal Sacculitis in a Dog

Abstract

Chronic anal sac impaction and abscessation was diagnosed in a male Labrador dog based on clinical signs, visual and digital rectal examination. Bilateral anal sacculectomy was undertaken to remove both affected anal glands. The dog made an uneventful recovery.
