Clinical examination revealed depression, pyrexia (104°F), tachycardia (114 beats/min), tick presence (Rhipicephalus sanguines) over the body, mildly palpable popliteal and prescapular lymph nodes. Clinical pathology revealed alteration in blood count and mixed infection of Ehrlichia canis, Babesia vogeli and Hepatozoon canis. The pup was successfully treated with Doxycycline, Clindamycin, Diminazene aceturate and other symptomatic therapy. The recovery was followed regularly with dramatic improvement in clinical condition after one week with normal appetite and normal activity. The pup recovered uneventfully and repeated blood examination was negative for hemoparasitic disease. Top Keywords Corneal, hemoprotozoan, hemoparasite, opacity. Top |
