Abstract Due to media privatization in the last couple of decade apparent changes could be observed though government continues to monitor and control media and communication by virtue of inherent power to regulate, enforce, monitor and intercept all forms of communication to the extent of tapping telephone lines, including mobile internet from time to time on the pretext of prevention and to maintain of law and order. This has given India dubious distinction of frequent internet ban more than any other country in the world.
