Online published on 31 August, 2018. Abstract Complete denture with an acrylic denture base is a successful treatment modality for many edentulous cases, but in some cases; Metallic denture base in comparison to Poly Methyl Methacrylate material is preferred. Post-menopausal/menopausal edentulous women is one such condition. Common oral manifestations in this condition are oral burning sensation with associated mucosal infections, pain, altered taste and alveolar bone loss. These symptoms may unfavourably affect oral health. The paper describes method of fabricating a metal base denture in an edentulous female that would help menopausal edentulous women feel hot/cold sensations of food/liquids, thereby giving them relief from pain, better taste perception, and relief from associated allergic and candidal infections that are common with conventional acrylic base dentures.
