Abstract An experiment was carried out to evaluate effectiveness of neem coated urea (NCU) as N source either alone or along with organic manures in increasing productivity of okra during summer seasons of year 2016 and 2017 at Pantnagar, Uttarakhand (India). Experiment with 14 treatments and replicated thrice was laid out in randomized complete block design. Among different treatments, 75% recommended dose of N (RDN) as NCU + 25% N as vermicompost proved to be best in terms of improvement in various growth parameters, green pod yield and higher N uptake and N use efficiency. The combined application of NCU (75% RDN) and vermicompost (25% RDN) by the farmers will increase the production of okra and N use efficiency.
