Abstract Punjab, a major milk producer in India with per capita availability of 1181grams per day, faces many major challenges for further advancement of the dairy sector. This study aims at identifying the problems that are required to be strengthened to promote dairy farming in Punjab. The primary data was collected from the farmers through personal interview and questionnaire fill-up. The study shows, the inter-linked effects of various factors through Spearman’s correlation viz. Improved veterinary aid, increased investment, young farmers. The logistic regression relationship also shows the various factors that can influence the willingness of dairy farmers to adopt dairy farming as a primary source of income. The area under curve i.e., 0.8077 (80.77%) of respondents in this model has recorded their significant response, that can influence their decision. The farmers oriented polices of government and addressal to the concerns of farmers can be helpful in strengthening the dairy farming business in Punjab.
