Abstract

An initiative has been carried out through Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) and TERI for providing clean energy solutions to the unserved segments of the society in the villages of Assam. A total of 279 solar home lighting systems were deployed in the unelectrified households of villages of the Golaghat, Jorhat, and Majuli districts. This paper focuses on the smooth mechanism for the field deployment of technology in association with multi-stakeholders. It also examines the impact on the lives of people by making it more convenient in terms of quality illumination, reduced kerosene consumption, and reduced fear of wild animals and insects.
