  Description
The Aligarh Muslim University Geographical Society, initially Known as The Curzon Geographical Society was formed on the 27th March 1925 under the Presidentship of Major E.W. Dann, Head of the Department of Geography. Since its inception the society has emphasized on to create scientific interest in Geography by promoting teaching in the subject and fostering research work. The Geographical Society started publication of the journal The geographer as its organ under the aegis of Department of Geography. The first issue of The Geographer appeared in January 1926. This journal is published bi-annually. This journal is devoted to the publication of research papers in the diverse fields of Geography. Papers are invited on any of the themes involving the application of Geographical methodology and the research towards the solution of human problems. The journal mainly includes papers o recent techniques and current problems which deal with the issues related to the Environment, Social, Urban, Population and Food Security.
