Abstract

This paper exposes the hypocrisy of the modern society, which propagates gender equality and also presents how the fate of a person depends on his/her gender. The protagonist of the play, Tara's life would be different if she were a boy. She has to lead a crippled life because of her female gender. Tara is a victim of the patriarchal society. Society always gives preference to the male child and the female child has been neglected, like Tara. In this paper, an effort has been made to expose the dogmatism of Indian society.
