Effectiveness of fenugreek seed powder in maintaining fasting blood glucose level among niddm patients Appavu Santhi*, Dhayani Asir** *Principal and HOD, Christian College of Nursing, Neyyoor **M. Sc.(N) II Year Student, Christian College of Nursing, Neyyoor Online published on 23 May, 2017. Abstract An Interrupted Time Series design was used to assess the effectiveness of fenugreek seed powder on maintaining fasting blood glucose level among NIDDM patients. 30 participants were selected by purposive sampling technique. Participants were on conventional treatment for 15 days and fenugreek seed powder was administered along with conventional treatment for 15 days. Results revealed that, the mean reduction of fasting blood glucose level with fenugreek seed powder along with conventional treatment is 30.774.6 and the ‘t ’value is 6.31, which was significant (p<0.05). Thus the study concluded that fenugreek seed powder was effective in maintaining fasting blood glucose level among NIDDM patients.
