Abstract In the present piece of work an attempt has been made to study the effect of gender and socioeconomic status (S.E.S.) on vulnerability and self-esteem of elderly people. The sample consisted of 80 participants (40 male and 40 female) aged between 60 and 80 years. Two scales-Rosenberg self-esteem scale and the vulnerability scale were used for data collection. In this study Mean, S.D. and the 2x2 analysis of variance were computed. It appears from the findings that gender and socioeconomic status (S.E.S.) of elderly people significantly affect the vulnerability in terms of their individual responses and interactions. The self-esteem of elderly people is significantly affected by their socioeconomic status (S.E.S.). Top Keywords Elderly people, Self-esteem, Vulnerability. Top |
