Assessing the Impact and Cost-Effectiveness of Electric Vehicle Subsidy in India Harikumar Aravind*, Thakura Palak The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi, India *Corresponding author: h.aravind@teri.res.in
Online published on 30 May, 2020. Abstract The paper assesses the potential impact of the national electric vehicle (EV) subsidy scheme and the cost-effectiveness of the allocation of the subsidy for different vehicular segments in reducing carbon dioxide equivalent emissions. The results show that even though the impacts are positive, most of the allocated subsidy is spent on switching the most-efficient mode into electric.
