Assess the learner's preference between chalkboard lecture and powerpoint lecture among undergraduate students Sheeba R.*, Begum I. Haseena** *Professor, K.G. Abstract A teaching method comprises the principles and methods used for instructions to be implemented to achieve the desired learning in students. Non experimental descriptive design was carried out with the aim of assessing the learner's preference between chalkboard lecture and PowerPoint lecture among undergraduate nursing students in a selected college, Coimbatore. A total of 60 III and IV year B. Sc nursing students have participated in the study. Stratified random sampling technique was used in selecting samples. Data was collected using three point likert scale to assess the learner's preference on chalkboard and PowerPoint lecture. Results were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Major findings: Students prefer PowerPoint lecture method (M: 44.4 SD: 0.37) than the chalkboard lecture method (M: 46.8 SD: 2.41) at p<.05 level.
