Abstract

This present study deals with bibliometric study of 1217 articles published during 2000 to 2015 in three renewed Journals of Fibre Textiles and indexed in SCOPUS namely Fibre and Integrated Optics, Optical Fibre Technology and Fibre and Polymers Journals. SCOPUS database has been used to extract data on textile. The study covers different perspective of textile research including article distribution pattern, authorship pattern, geographical distribution, document type, length of articles and citation analysis etc. Paper concludes that a total of 1217 documents were produced during 2000 to 2015 in select aforesaid journals. Fibre and integrated optics have contributed highly articles 159 (13.06%) followed by Optical Fibre Technology. with 480 (39.44%) publications, and then others. In geographical analysis of said articles, it is found the highest articles 312 (25.64%) produced by India scientist followed by US 227 (18.65%) then UK 210 (17.26%). The collected data has been classified by using excel sheet. The top four cited journals are Fibre and Polymers, Optical Fibre Technology and Fibre and Integrated Optics Journal. The three Journals have successfully completed 16 years of publication. It has got world-wide recognition and is steadily growing to be a very promising journal in the area of textile research by attracting scholarly articles from around the world.
