Abstract

Twenty five genotypes of gladiolus were selected for stability of performance in six environments. Significant mean squares due to genotype × environment (linear) for characters viz., number of florets per spike and rachis length, indicated that significant portion of these interactions was due to the linear component. Mean squares due to pooled deviation were significant for all the characters, indicating the predominance of non-linear components. Red Softglow and Viola showed high mean performance, unit regression coefficient and least deviation from regression coefficient for most of the economic characters under all the six environments.
