A response of users for the adoption of mobile based national digital library (NDL) services: An investigative study

Abstract

The present study aims to present an overview of the acceptance of the students regarding possible use and advantage of the mobile phones’ app launched by National Digital Library (NDL) project in India with the initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development. It also aims to locate the possible benefits and relative drawbacks regarding the use of mobile based National Digital library services. The random survey method with a structured questionnaire has been taken up to conduct the research. The data were collected from MBA students of MGKVP for the study and findings. Responses to closed-ended questions in a particular range from 1–7 point Likertscales were used for testing and responses to other closed-ended questions were analyzed using general statistics. The result of the study shows that the status of mobile phone usage by the students is satisfactory. The findings of the study indicate that the students very much cordial regarding the use of mobile phone apps like NDL. This study traces the use pattern of the mobile phone's app by the students of MGKVP for retrieving information and their attitude towards implementing a mobile based library system in the future
