A path to cultivate organisational socialization for its success

Abstract

An organisation is able to attract a pool of highly qualified applicants; it will obviously utilize some selection procedures, make offers to applicants and ultimately end up with new employees. When someone is hired, a process of socialization is required to transform the new outsider employee in to a full fledged organisational member. Organizational socialization is the process whereby an employee learning the knowledge and skills necessary to assume his or her organizational role.In this paper, organisational socialization is defined, models of the organisational socialization process are reviewed and tactics used by both organisation and newcomers during the socialization process are described.
