Abstract

The present study was undertaken to assess the toxicity of textile dye effluent on various haematological parameters of Swiss Albino Mice. In comparison to control mice, values of RBC, WBC, Hb, PCV decreased significantly (p<0.05) in treated mice during all the exposure periods. However the decrease in MCV, MCH and MCHC were not significant. The findings indicated that the textile dye effluent causes a marked alteration in blood profile. The present investigation may be a valuable step in the toxicity assessment of textile dye effluent in Swiss Albino Mice.
