Abstract

Immunological cross reactivity was established between the salivary gland antigen and midgut antigen of Haemaphysalis bispinosa. SDS-PAGE revealed common proteins of molecular weight 32kDa in the mid-gut and salivary gland extracts. Western Blot analysis using hyper immune sera of midgut antigen was used to prove cross reactivity among salivary gland antigen and midgut antigen, revealing sharing of antigenic proteins between the two.
