Abstract

Rhizoctonia solani Kuhn (Teleomorph Thanatephorus cucumeris (Frank)., the incitant of web blight of mungbean is a devastating disease of mungbean. To its management, a field experiment was conducted for two consecutive year 2011 and 2012 with eight treatments (T1-Seed treatment with carbendazim 2g/kg; T2-Seed treatment with Trichoderma harzianum 4g/kg; T3-Foliar spray Propiconazole (0.1%); T4-Foliar spray Carbendazim (0.1%); T5-Seed treatment with carbendazim 2g/kg + Foliar spray Propiconazole (0.1%); T6-Seed treatment with carbendazim 2g/kg + Foliar spray Carbendazim (0.1%); T7-Seed treatment with Trichoderma 4g/kg + Foliar spray Propiconazole (0.1%) and T8-Seed treatment with Trichoderma 4g/kg + Foliar spray Carbendazim (0.1%) along with a check (T9-without seed treatment and no any spray) at NEB cro-p Research center GBPUAT, Pantnagar. All the treatment were significantly superior in reducing the severity of the diseases and increase the grain yield over the check. However, seed treated with carbendazim 50 WP (2g/kg seed) + foliar spray of propiconazole 25 EC (0.1%) was found the best by reducing the maximum disease severity 66.51% and gain yield 149.56% over the check followed by seed treatment with carbendazim 50 WP (2g/kg seed) + spray with carbendazim 50 WP (0.1%) and seed treatment with Trichoderma harzianum (4g/kg seed) + spray with propiconazole 25 EC (0.1%) in order tocontrol thedisease severity 63.01 per cent and 56.29 per cent respectively.
