Abstract

There are many industries dealing with the metal plating and use of heavy metals in the process of manufacturing metallic goods out of which small scale industries are not following the pollution control rules drawn by Indian government. These industries discharge wastewater directly to the sewage without any proper treatment. This study is an attempt to show the pattern of different heavy metals penetration into the soil, using industrial waste water taken as sample and it find effects on the soil and the pattern of penetration of wastewater in the ecology. In this study soil samples are taken from sub divided bore holes of different depths H1, H2, H3 are 100 cm, 200 cm and 300 cm respectively. The extraction of heavy metals from soil by using chelating agents analyzed by atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS) Perkim Elmer 990F, for analyzing heavy metals like Zn, Cu, Mn, Pb, Cr and Fe are investigated in the test. These results showed that the penetrations of heavy metals into the soil are moving inwards into the soil depth day by day.
