Abstract The two gelechiid pests viz., leaf miner, Aproaerema modicella (Deventer) and leaf bud borer, Anarsia ephippias (Meyrick) on the groundnut crop were studied for their seasonal incidence and correlate with weather parameters. In case of bud borer significant negative correlations were obtained with temperature (maximum and minimum), sunshine hours and rainfall; and it was positive with relative humidity, and wind velocity. In case of temperature (maximum and minimum), wind velocity and rainfall negative relationships were observed; while it was found to be positively correlated in case of relative humidity and sunshine hours.
